UPCOMING EVENTS AT BLLH

BLH is Creating a Photo Directory!

This week Lifetouch will begin scheduling your own photo appointments - please look forward to a phone call.

Also, we are looking for volunteers to help in the success of the new photo directory.  Training is provided (simply administrative work required) and high school teens are welcome (okay to work in pairs).    Contact John Dvorak at John.Dvorak@blc.edu if you are interested.   Volunteers are needed at Bloomington Lutheran Church on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, April 20, 2:30 - 9pm
  • Wednesday, April 21, 2:30 - 9pm
  • Friday, April 23, 2:30 - 9pm
  • Saturday, April 24, 10am - 4pm

Easter Buttons and Car Window Stickers

Show others that you are celebrating Easter by wearing one of the pin-on buttons available in the church entry.  Another option is to place a sticker in your car window, or any where else that many people will see it.  Pick up yours today!

Easter Breakfast at Living Hope or Bloomington Lutheran

If your Easter Sunday includes a Living Hope worship service, please plan on attending the annual Easter Sunday Potluck Breakfast.  The breakfast begins at 9:00 am and ends prior to the 10:00 am worship service.  Bring your friends and your whole family and bring a dish or two to share.  The crowds have been large in the past and the variety and imaginative dishes has been something to behold.

If your Easter Sunday includes worship at Bloomington Lutheran,
please plan to join us for breakfast at 7:00 am following the
6:00 am Sunrise Service and before the 8:00 am worship
service.  The Bloomington breakfast will be served
by the Pioneers and is not a potluck breakfast (free will offering)
but if you are willing, we are in need of baked goods to serve.
There is a sign up sheet on the Flower Chart bulletin board
at BLC for anyone planning to bring baked goods.

Easter Egg Hunt

on Easter Sunday at Bloomington Lutheran Church between the 8:00 am and 10:30am services.  Bring the little children and have fun collecting candy-filled, plastic eggs (please bring along your own basket).  This event is sponsored by our Boys & Girls Pioneers.

Weekly Wednesday Night Lenten Services

During Lent, services are held at Bloomington Lutheran Church at noon and 7:00 pm and at Living Hope Lutheran Church at 7:00 pm.  Soup and sandwich is offered at 6:00 pm at both church locations.  The sermon themes are based around a central theme: Thoughts at the Cross.  Make time to attend these special services to prepare for Easter.

Palm Sunday Vespers Service, March 28

at Bloomington Lutheran Church, 7:30 p.m.  The word "vespers" is Latin for "evening."  Last month Bloomington Living Hope started a monthly vespers service, which is not intended to replace your regular worship, but rather enhance your worship to the Lord.  It will be more of a devotional and reflective setting.

This month the devotional and reflective setting of vespers will focus on the Seder meal - the Jewish Passover meal.  Experience aspects of the meal by tasting traditional Seder food and learning about the meal that lead to Jesus' new meal for us - Holy Communion.

Come and experience Vespers!
